Dan grew up in Colorado Springs, Colorado. After high school, Dan attended the University of Wyoming, where he received his undergraduate degree in 2003 and his J. D. from the University of Wyoming College of Law in 2009. Prior to joining the Law Firm, Dan spent two years clerking for the Honorable Dennis L. Sanderson in the 3rd Judicial District Court in Uinta and Lincoln Counties, Wyoming and two years at a large oil and gas law firm in Houston, Texas. Dan has experience in conducting title examination on federal, state and fee lands, preparing Drilling, Division Order, Supplemental, and Acquisition Title Opinions, drafting curative documents, conducting due diligence and rapid response due diligence for acquisitions and divestitures, and mineral ownership litigation. Dan enjoys rifle and shotgun shooting and reloading, fishing and reading. Dan helped establish Tyson Gurney & Davis, LLC in 2019.
